Brooklyn Hillbilly
San Diego at INDIANAPOLIS(-9)
Remember when everyone thought the Chargers were done in the first few weeks of the season? Yeah, well, they pulled a Hillary sized comeback to get themselves into the second round of these here playoffs(and they didnt even have to fake-cry!). Everything Im reading says this is gonna be the best game of the weekend, and Id probably agree. Watching Phillip Rivers throw 3 picks WILL be awesome. Seeing Peyton pull out a victory in the last 4 min WILL be captivating. But the ultimate goal of this game, as everyone knows, is to win without getting anyone important hurt(or any MORE people in the Colts case) so that the victor will be ready to beat the Patriots next weekend. To be honest, this game matters little to me, the whole NFL season has boiled down to one single, tantamount objective: To watch the New England Patriots either lose on the field or have the whole team die in a horrifying tiger attack. My boys are done, Im already looking at the draft charts(OT Michael Oher- you are my guy!) and wondering who the new O coordinator in Pittsburgh will be. So really, this pick is all about which team has a better shot at beating the Pats. Despite the injuries Peytons squad has suffered, I think these guys really do have a chance to beat New England. San Diego cant win with Rivers at QB in a game that big. Thusly, my pick is as follows- Colts win to get a chance at destiny. 24-17
New York Football Giants at DALLAS(-7.5)
Look, all I can hope for with this game is that Romo gets redeemed for last years botched hold, or the same thing happens to Eli. I grew up hating the Cowboys and pretty much everything else from the state of Texas. But over the years, my bias has waned, I met some really cool people from Texas, I admired the San Antonio Spurs organization and Texas gave us the bestest president ever, my pal W (sorry, I meant Connecticut). And yet I still hung onto that Cowboy hatred. But last year, things changed. Tony Romo came into the spotlight and, shockingly, he seemed like a halfway decent guy(breaking new ground for the organization). Just a guy who loves playing football, doesnt take himself too seriously and has some funny jokes for the post-game press conference. Plus the guy is banging hotties that SC writers couldnt get within 100ft of. I just cant hate the guy. Eli however, looking like the retarded younger brother that he is, inspires nothing but spite in me. The rest of his team is good, but this is the NFL baby, and you only go as far as your QB will let you. And just plainly, Romo is better than Eli. Not that this is shocking news or anything but it gives Dallas the edge. Osi and Strahan will be chasing Romo around all evening, but Tonys gonna be the one with the smile on his face at the end of this one. Cowboys win 28-20
